The paper “Quality Criteria in Newborn Hearing Screening – Three Identical Project Approaches in French-Speaking African Countries” shows that, despite extremely comparable conditions in the evaluated countries, the outcome of the screenings differed significantly. The authors conclude that a successful hearing screening program depends very much on permanent quality control as well as on the soft skills and motivation of its administrators and examiners.
