The Ambassador of Austria in Pakistan H.E. Mrs. Andrea Wicke and the Austrian Trade Commissioner Johannes Brunner attended the ceremony as witnesses of honour. As part of the gala evening well-known experts from Pakistan in the field of Audiology and Speech and Language Pathology addressed the need for newborn hearing screening and for adequate data on hearing loss in Pakistan and stressed the need to act to enable people with hearing impairment to get the best treatment. The audience included high ranking officials from educational institutions, hospitals, government, NGOs and clinicians.
