Stephanie Unterrieder introduced the global strategy and mission of the HHA and was followed by regional representatives who expanded these core ideas in the context of their own activities. Prof. Basilide Zekou Téa from Côte d’Ivoire talked about professional education programmes in otology for experts in French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Nadeem Mukhtar from Pakistan then presented on Newborn Hearing Screening in the context of the entire Hearing Journey. He was followed by Dr. Ranjith Rajeswaran from India who talked about the establishment of a BSc in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology in Bangladesh and Nepal. Serah Ndegwa from Kenya gave a talk about the experiences of Audiology Training in East Africa at the University of Nairobi and Nana Akua Owusu talked about the experiences from a rehabilitation perspective with starting a CI Program in Africa.
